Find A Wedding Dress Fit For You!

Finding the right wedding dress can be a very difficult process. What you like in the magazines or online, might not look as great as you had dreamed.

Hourglass brides look best in a two-piece dress or a corset dress. Anything that accentuates the bride’s waist will enhance the beauty of this bride. Beautiful ball gowns and corseted bodices normally work for the bust line as well. Bridal bouquets should not overwhelm. Bridal headpieces should not be overdone if the wedding gown is elaborate.

Pear shaped brides will look best in an A-line princess dress. This style of dress disguises fuller hips as well as balances the torso to bust. Chapel length bridal veils add sleeker lines. For wedding hairstyles- try not to have all your hair swept up - leaving some down it will help emphasize balance.

Petite brides can be a difficult body type to fit. Look for dresses that are very clean cut with unbroken contours and without too much fabric - these will help to elongate. Unfortunately, big ball gowns and mermaid wedding dresses are beautiful but can easily overwhelm the petite bride. Chapel or fingertip bridal veils ensure that the petite bride is framed well. Keep bridal accessories to a minimum.

Tall brides can wear anything from ball gowns, princess line and A- line wedding dresses, straight bridal and mermaid style dresses - all are great for the tall bride who can carry almost any dress style. Avoid empire line dresses that can look “tent like” on your frame. Avoid wedding flowers or bouquets that are too small or large. Ensure they work proportionately with you and your body type.

Fuller waist brides will find that princess-line dresses and drop waist wedding dresses will be the most flattering. Draw the eye up with stunning bridal accessories. A bold Diamond necklace and earrings will do the trick.

Broader shouldered brides should veer away from halter and off-the-shoulder necklines, which tend to accentuate the shoulders. Try strapless and scoop necklines. For bridal accessories, fine delicate jewelry works best with your body type.

Fuller breasted brides will learn quickly that corsets can work magic. Widely set apart straps diminish fuller busted figures. Wedding dresses with scoop or square necklines will enhance the bust. Strapless dresses are on your wedding checklist as a “wait and see how it looks” possibility.

Fuller armed brides should try off-the-shoulder straps or a sheer fabric. Usually three-quarter or long sleeves in solid fabrics work best to elongate the line of the arm, be cautious as sleeves should not be cut tight.

When all else fails – try it on and be true to you!

Accessories For Lace Wedding Gowns

lace wedding gowns

Is there anything more romantic than a lace wedding gown? Lace is one of the most cherished bridal fabrics of all, and whether your gown is embellished with small lace appliques or completely covered in it, it is sure to be exquisite. Lace gowns can be worn for many different types of weddings, and the right accessories will help to create the effect that you desire. These are some suggestions on the best bridal accessories for lace wedding gowns.

The most traditional lace gowns either have a 1950s ballgown flair or an antique Victorian flavor. The Victorian vintage inspired lace wedding dresses often have beautifully shaped necklines, either long or short sleeves (but never strapless), and may have a softly falling skirt with a sweep train. Wearing your hear in a soft and classic updo will complement the style of the gown and help to show off its special neckline. A very pretty veil length for this type of lace gown is one which falls to mid calf length. Choose one which is trimmed in either a very fine pencil edge border or which has a delicate lace applique on just the lower portion of the gown (not by the face). The veil should fall fairly straight; do not go with a poufy veil for a Victorian inspired dress. A substantial pair of pearl teardrop earrings will finish off the effect beautifully.

On the other hand, if you have a lace wedding gown with a 1950s shape, a fuller veil will look great. These gowns may be created entirely from lace, or have lace appliques on the hem and bodice which embellish a gorgeous silk organza or taffeta. When wearing a bridal gown with a fuller skirt, a bit more fullness in the veil is ideal for balance. A waist length double tier veil with a silk ribbon trim is lovely for a fun and flirty bride. For a formal wedding, opt for a veil which is longer than the train of the gown and trimmed in a wide border of the matching lace all the way around. Sometimes called a mantilla, this is a truly stunning veil which will make a statement.

Lace bridal gowns are not always so demure. A slinky gown made of a lightweight lace like Chantilly can love your curves. The weight and classic grace of lace prevent a clingy gown from appearing too sexy for a wedding. When the gown has a very slim silhouette, a very, very long veil is actually a fantastic match. A long plain veil flowing behind a slender lace gown is truly breathtaking.

Pearls and lace always go together. In fact, many bridal gowns will have pearl beading on the lace for more elegance. When wearing a strapless lace gown, especially one with a 50s influence, a strand of pearls is ideal. Either choose a traditional full strand of pearls, or wear a pearl tin cup necklace for a lighter look. Demure brides can accent a tin cup necklace with a classic pair of pearl studs, or select a more trendy pair of earrings such as pearl drop stilettos. Either way, the bridal jewelry will enhance the beauty of a lace wedding gown, creating an absolutely lovely vision for your wedding day.
